The best day ever?
Hello whoever might be out there,
I think I may have just had the best day ever. Genuinely. I don't think there is going to be a day that will ever top this one.
I have seen Hamilton live.
And if you have also seen Hamilton, or even know anything about it, you will know how big of a deal this is. My family aren't theatre people. We don't really have a strong local theatre that houses touring shows. And we especially don't have the money to be dropping £200 on tickets every time. But my Mum finally caved in for my birthday this year and bought us tickets to see Hamilton in Plymouth. My birthday was in January by the way, you have to book these shows months and months in advance, and even then we still got some of the last tickets left.
They were the best seats I ever could've asked for though! Dead centre of the stalls. I had a perfect view and it was the most magical experience I have ever had. Everyone was absolutely incredible, but I have to give a special mention to Sydney Spencer. I did not expect to cry at this show, but I did, and I truly believe it was down to the power of her voice. It is the most gorgeous voice I have ever had the honour of hearing. The whole show was a marvel, well worth the £200 price point. It was the best three hours of my life, and I am not sure what is going to beat that.
My Mum spoiled me rotten all day and I am so so so grateful. I mean, she bought me both programmes? £20 of pure gold! I am treasuring them like my first-born child. We took a quick trip to the Aquarium too. I have been several times before, but I wanted to check out the gift shop for one reason: tote bags. I love tote bags. I collect tote bags everywhere I go. And if I love anything more than tote bags, it's sea creatures. So anyway, I now have a third National Marine Aquarium tote bag and I could not be happier.
I think I told my Mum how happy I was upwards of 1000 times today, probably more. Today was better than every Christmas and birthday I have ever had combined (which isn't hard to be honest, not because I am an ungrateful brat, but because my Dad is... he's my Dad for sure, but that's a different topic entirely.) Today was a day for the history books. Today was the day an internet user on your screen learned what life was about. What life is for.
I felt happy.
Not to get all emo and edgy, but I don't really get to say that a lot so genuinely (it's another whole story, and because I am on the internet those stories are not for you, humble internet user! Unless you're one of my friends reading this, in which case you likely already know. Get teased internet strangers.)
I do think though, that today proves that money does buy happiness. An expensive day out? Very. But a good one? Hell yeah!
I live by the question of "Why do you write like you're running out of time?"
Yours faithfully,
MD
