Half Term: Day 1 - What did I do?

Hello whoever might be out there, 

It's that time again. Half term. A whole week to sit and mellow in my own thoughts while trying fifty new hobbies just to pass the time. Stuck indoors.

I went shopping today. Bought some lip glosses, thought it might help me feel that tiny bit more feminine; I really am clutching at straws here. My phone tells me I spent 46 minutes on Vinted - I spent 46 minutes gawping at the price of clothes that I never will get my hands on. I did some colouring, although I think the book I bought at a discount for only 50p has AI slop in it. I never realised there was a road running under London bridge.

I made a playlist on the Nintendo Music app. A "Calm mix." Scrolling through every single song of all the Nintendo games I have played, sorting them into which fit my idea of calm. Ironically, I only had the patience to listen to the first few seconds of each. I think that just shows why I needed a calm mix in the first place.

I played TCGP for an hour. Using my cheesing Celebi deck to hunt for that elusive second Cresselia. I have 10 Skarmory, 8 Misdreavus, but apparently 2 Cresselia is a step too far. I just want to make a deck. I want to be let out of Celebi coin flip purgatory, but the Gods of RNG will not stand for it.

I sat here writing this blog that I expect nobody will read. Until I can't keep my mouth shut about it anymore. Who knows how long that will be? Soft launching links is difficult. I don't have the confidence needed to make it easier.

I'm about to play Fortnite. Apparently there's an event. I asked my friends to play but we'll see if they join me or leave me hanging.

I am trying to be philosophical, but that is hard when you have Hatsune Miku staring at you.

Hello whoever might be out there, I have always had such a strong passion for writing and rambling, so where better to do that than a blog? I have opinions on a lot of things, and sometimes yelling them out into the void of the internet will do me some good. Superman isn't selfish, so why are you?

Hello whoever might be out there, I watched the new Superman film yesterday. I don't really consider myself to be into superheroes. I think they're cool, but the typical "good guy fights bad guy" doesn't outweigh how I can't stop thinking about all the other lives ruined. It's stupid of me to think about it that deeply, I know. Superhero films are made to entertain, not to be realistic, but I can't look past it. I'm sorry I don't find watching innocent civilians killed, even in a fictional context. It's an uncanny sense of realism that I can't shake off. But the new Superman film seemed ever so slightly different. Yes there were fight scenes and killing and a typical mandatory city evacuation, but there was also character depth, a lot of it. I like character depth. I like characters. I like seeing what people come up with when they imagine a human (or other species, I don't judge.) Their motivations and their flaws. That's what ...

Matilda (The Musical)

Hello whoever might be out there,  My birthday gift this year was tickets to see Matilda The Musical at my nearest theatre (which as you may know, isn't near at all, especially as my Mum doesn't drive) and it was the best thing I could've got. I have wanted to see Matilda on stage for so many years, basically as soon as I heard about it. I was meant to go in Year 6 with my primary school but couldn't, and I am kind of glad in a way because it meant I got to go today. Matilda (1996) has always been my favourite film and probably always will be. I relate to Matilda Wormwood more than any other character, and part of the reason why I am glad I got to go now is because I can fully appreciate both the character's and my own lived experiences. I'm not going to trauma dump, that isn't fun to write or to read and I have already rephrased this several times to avoid it, but all you need to know is that I understand Matilda in practically every aspect of her character...
